Hot Melt Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (HMPSA) is a type of Hot-Melts Adhesive specifically designed to provide instant tack and adhesion when pressure is applied. It is commonly used in various applications such as mattresses, automobile, courier bags, stock labels, bottle labels, tapes, decals, hygiene products and other self-adhesive products. Here’s how HMPSA is typically used:
- Hot Melt Pressure Senstive Adhesive is supplied in solid form, usually as pellets, blocks, or sticks. These solid forms are loaded into a hot melt adhesive application equipment such as a hot melt glue and applied by roller, nozzle or a gun.
- Hot Melt Pressure Senstive Adhesive exhibits instant tack, which means it quickly develops adhesive properties upon contact with the substrate. When pressure is applied, the adhesive forms a bond with the surface, providing immediate adhesion.
- Once pressure is applied, the HMPSA quickly cools and solidifies, forming a strong and permanent bond. It adheres well to a wide range of surfaces, including paper, plastic, metal, and fabric.
